There
is no single model of method which on its own will cater for the needs
of all gifted and talented students. Ideally, a combination of strategies
will be used, including:
Differentiated
curriculum
In-class
enrichment and extension for individuals who require extension in one
or more content areas. This may include independent study, contract
work or acceleration through the curriculum
Withdrawal
for enrichment or extension activities or individualised programming
Mentors
for students who have a strong interest and potential ability in a particular
field which may be outside the regular school curriculum
Accessing
school-based programs such as Future Problem Solving, Tournament
of the Minds and a wide range of programs available on the internet.

Parents
play a vital role nurturing and encouraging the gifts and talents in
their children. They can provide an environment where a wide range of
interests can be explored and enjoyed and create a climate where children
can engage in child-initiated activities.
